Pilz at Interpack/components 2026, Hall 18b, Stand C11 - Safety upgrade for packaging machines

At Interpack/components 2026 (7 - 13 May), automation expert Pilz will be showcasing future-proof sensor technology and control solutions under the slogan “Packaging without risk. Safety without compromise”. Pilz focuses on flexible and compliant solutions for consistent performance, even under variable production conditions. Visitors can also find out about Pilz's services relating to the EU Machinery Regulation (MR), which comes into force in 2027, the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) and the EN 415 series of standards, relevant to the safety of packaging machines.

At Interpack, Pilz will be focusing on forming, filling and sealing (FFS) machines: the company will be demonstrating how certified, scalable and compatible safety solutions provide a reliable basis for this type of machine. Pilz experts will explain how such safety solutions can implement current standards in packaging technology – regardless of the machine configuration and process variability.

Sustainably safe packaging machines
In Düsseldorf, Pilz will also be focusing on standard-compliant safety strategies for packaging machines in accordance with the MR and CRA: what are the steps to consider from development and design through to commissioning? As a standards expert, Pilz will be advising visitors about its tailor-made support, comprising services and training throughout the entire lifecycle of packaging machines. The focus is on Industrial Security: visitors to the stand will learn about the special support Pilz has to offer when implementing the most important tasks: “protection of functional safety from cyber attacks”, “protection against unauthorised access” and “protection against on-site manipulation”. Another related topic: the MR requires a systematic risk assessment and consideration of digital risks throughout the entire machine lifecycle. Pilz presents its MYZEL Lifecycle Platform with this purpose in mind. Visitors to the stand at the packaging trade fair will experience live how MYZEL, as a central platform, guarantees the legally compliant, safe operation of FFS in particular, as well as other types of packaging machines.

Safety sensors provide comprehensive protection for packaging processes
Safety sensors protect both packaging machines and operating personnel. At Interpack, Pilz will also have its sensor technology portfolio PSEN on the stand. The automation specialist will provide practical advice on the implementation of Safety and Security via sensor technology from Pilz. A key issue here is the robustness of Pilz sensors for packaging machines. Visitors will also learn how intelligent diagnostic functions can be networked and integrated for diagnostic purposes via the Pilz IO-Link Safety system – including the first certified IO-Link Safety Master – and safety locking devices.
