The automation company Pilz is introducing its new version of the pushbutton unit PITgatebox with integrated access permission system PITreader card unit. With the corresponding RFID transponder cards, users authenticate themselves directly on the PITgatebox. Pilz thus offers simple operation of safety gate systems and, at the same time, greater flexibility for controlling access. The new complete package for safety gate systems increases the level of Safety and Industrial Security on the machine.

Pushbutton unit PITgatebox from Pilz now with access permission in card format - Safe and Secure operation of safety gates
With the PITreader card unit, operators can implement flexible and efficient access permission management on the safety gate. The RFID access card PITreader card stores information about the person’s permissions. So only qualified persons can execute commands such as activate, stop or reset the machine. This reliably protects the plant or machine from misuse or even manipulation, and reduces machine downtimes.
One card for different application areas
The PITreader card is available as a freely writable version and in a preconfigured version. As well as the PITreader card, it is also possible to use a company's existing RFID-enabled cards, in accordance with the standards ISO/IEC 14443-A and ISO/IEC 15693. Furthermore, additional Pilz transponders such as the PITreader key and sticker can be used with the access permission system PITreader card unit. The RFID transponders combine various permissions for different machines. Users will find this intuitive and time-saving.
Flexible application on the safety gate
Thanks to the slimline design, the robust operating unit PITgatebox is easy to fit to conventional profile systems. The rotatable mounting bracket also allows flexible positioning on the safety gate. Thanks to the M12, 12-pin connection, installation is quick and requires no wiring. With PITgatebox, the operator has a modular, one-stop safety gate solution that provides Safety and Security, especially when combined with the safety locking devices PSENmlock and PSENslock.
