Robust design: reliable safety sensor technology for demanding industrial environments
Today's industrial plants operate under changing, often extreme conditions. So safety sensors must not only have precision detection, but must also be resilient. The safety sensors PSEN from Pilz are designed for use in environments with dust, vibration, cold, humidity and cleaning processes. Thanks to high protection types, robustness to shock and vibration and a durable design, they support constantly high plant availability.
Robust sensor solutions include, for example, the safety light curtains PSENopt II, the safety locking device PSENslock 2 and the safe radar systems PSENradar. Each of these technologies is optimised for specific environments, from hygiene-critical areas to applications prone to dust and chipping, such as metal and woodworking.
How do I ensure constant safety despite dust, cold or vibration?
The robust design of the PSEN sensor technology from Pilz guarantees reliable operation, even in rugged environments, thus reducing downtimes.
- The radar technology PSENradar is insensitive to dust, chips, light or sparks and enables reliable protection in wood and metalworking, in outdoor areas or in heavy industry.
- Safety light curtains PSENopt II offer flexible application options, rapid installation, absence of dead zones and shock resistance of 50g. They can also be used at temperatures from -25 °C to +60 °C with no problem.
- With protection type IP67, the safety locking device PSENslock 2 is insensitive to dust and water. The more hygienic design prevents dust and dirt deposits. Special versions with stainless steel components are also available for more hygiene-critical applications in the packaging industry.
