Safe direction (SDI)

Monitoring the Safe Direction (SDI) in accordance with EN 61800-5-2 prevents the motor from moving in an invalid direction. If a deviation is detected in the direction of movement, the defined reaction is performed.

Safe monitoring of the direction of movement is used frequently in combination with the safely limited speed (SLS). Here too, the drive-integrated solution enables the fastest possible shutdown. In practice, this combination makes sense in particular when work is performed in the danger zone and it must be ensured that a drive moves in the required direction and at a defined maximum speed.

The safety function is also fulfilled by the speed monitor PNOZ s30!
